Watchman character jug modeled by Diana Capener and produced by Audley Porcelain of England circa 1980 using its Studio D trademark. A Watchman was hired to guard a village or building to deter thieves while also ensuring the safety of the people, buildings, stables, horses, and carriages. A large key forms the handle of the jug.
