We regularly receive inquiries from people who would like to donate to the American Toby Jug Museum. As a non-profit organization, the Museum operates solely from generous donations and other fundraising activities. The Museum accepts the following types of donations:

Collection Donations
Many people have either inherited a collection for which they have no need, room or interest, or are down-sizing and need to cull or dispose of their collection. Our advice is to first contact specialist dealers to see if they might be interested in a purchase, or consider disposing of the collection through an auction house or online site such as eBay. However, many discover that donating the collection to the American Toby Jug Museum is a painless and satisfactory way of disposing of the collection.
To donate a collection, please mail or email a comprehensive list of the collection including item description, height, maker, condition, and any markings on the bottoms. Photos are also extremely helpful. We will assess the fair market value of the collection and provide a donation letter for income tax purposes. Shipping/delivering the collection to the Museum is the responsibility of the donor.
Bequest Donations
Planning for the future and creating the legacy you wish to leave is one of the most effective ways to ensure a lasting impact. Making a gift in your will or living trust, known as a bequest or endowment, can guarantee that your legacy endures. Your gift may be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, a collection or specific items, or the remainder after all other provisions are specified. Below is suggested language to take to your attorney for use in drafting your bequest.
"I give to the American Toby Jug Museum, a nonprofit corporation currently located at 910 Chicago Avenue, Evanston, Illinois 60202, or its successor thereto, _________ [specific dollar amount, percentage of the estate, or description of property] for its unrestricted charitable use and purpose."
All donations will help sustain the Museum’s operations going forward including expanding our educational services, adding to the collection, and preserving the history and excitement of this unique collecting genre for others to enjoy. The Museum is a 501(c)(3) organization and can supply a donation letter for income tax purposes upon request.
