Volunteer toby jug large - Shorter & Son circa 1960

Volunteer toby jug in a large size produced by Shorter & Son of Stoke-on-Trent, England, circa 1960. The Volunteer is working tirelessly on behalf of the Royal Voluntary Service. During World War II these were dedicated civilian men and women who want to help their fellow citizens and country. Today the Royal Voluntary Services continues to mobilize volunteers from every corner of Britain to support people in need. A bugle forms the handle of this jug. This is the larger of two known sizes with the smaller size standing 4 3/4" tall.
