Tweedledum and Tweedledee toby jug - Tony Wood Studio 1983

Tweedledum and Tweedledee toby jug produced by Tony Wood Studio of Fenton, England, in a 1983 limited edition for Perennis and offered on a subscription basis. Tweedledum and Tweedledee are characters in an English nursery rhyme and in Lewis Carroll's 1871 book "Through the Looking-Glass".
They are two fat little men, twins, who agree to have a battle, but never have one. When they see a monstrous black crow swooping down, they take to their heels. The Tweedle brothers never contradict each other, rather, they complement each other's words, The names have become synonymous in western popular culture for any two people whose appearances and actions are identical. The twins are standing against the trunk of a tree, a branch of which forms the handle of the jug. This is one of sixteen toby jug in the Alice in Wonderland Series.
