Tonelero toby jug - Spain circa 1900

Tonelero majolica toby jug produced in Spain circa 1900. Tonelero is the name of this fierce looking dog. Sitting waiting for his master he is obviously well trained. Tonelero translates as cooper, so perhaps his master is the village cooper and he helps around the shop. He is wearing a collar with his name and the attached leash forms the handle of the jug.
