Tommy Twaddle toby jug produced in a pastel green colorway, designed by Colin Rawson and produced by Hornsea Pottery of Hornsea, England, between 1950 and 1952. Tommy Twaddle is a long-time pottery worker who is seated against a tree stump with his legs crossed and holding a walking stick. Twaddle is the name used in the pottery trade for the amount of sodium silicate deflocculant added to the liquid slip. A tree branch forms the handle of the jug.
