Toad face pot produced in a blue colorway by Kevin Francis Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, in a 2004 limited edition of 75. Toad is a common name for certain frogs, especially of the family Bufonidae, that are characterized by dry, leathery skin, short legs, and large bumps covering the parotoid glands. A distinction between frogs and toads is not made in scientific taxonomy, but is common in popular culture, in which toads are associated with drier, rougher skin and more terrestrial habitats. The toad is encouraging anyone to lick his back with his "Lick Me" face pot quote. People often get high from licking the back of a toad. Hallucinations and euphoria are the known effects of this activity, but it can also cause anxiety, nausea or seizures and, in some cases, death.
