The Squire toby jug - Kevin Francis Ceramics 1993

The Squire toby jug modeled by Andy Moss and produced by Kevin Francis Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, in a 1993 limited edition of 750. In medieval times, a squire was a young nobleman who was attendant on a knight or served the nobility in their castle for a specified period of time. A squire was also an English country landowner as depicted in this popular toby jug. This squire is seated in a chair holding a large mug of ale in his right hand and a churchwarden pipe in his left.
