The Spook and Bearded Spook character jug flambé - Royal Doulton 2007

The Spook and Bearded Spook two-sided character jug prototype in a flambé finish designed by Robert I. Tabbenor and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, in 2007 commissioned by G & G Collectables for a planned Myths and Legends Series. The Spook, and his companion The Bearded Spook, are inspired from the classic Royal Doulton figurines designed by Charles J. Noke. The Spook figurines were introduced in 1916 and last produced in 1936. The word spook is from the Middle Dutch word spooc, which in turn is derived from the Swedish spoke or Danish spogelse, meaning ghost. Judging from their impish grins, the pair seems bent on creating mischief for someone.
