The Snooker Player character jug modeled by Stanley J. Taylor and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, between 1991-1995. Snooker is a cue sport played by two players or teams. The goal is to win a frame by pocketing one of the red balls with the white cue ball, earning one point and the chance to sink one of the colored balls. If that ball drops, the player gets the points for the ball and the right to play a red and a colored ball in succession for as long as the balls drop into the pockets. If no ball drops, he has to stop and his opponent gets a chance to play. Snooker was invented in 1875 at Jabalpur in India, when players in a British regiment combined three previous forms of cue sports (billiards, pyramids and life pool) to make one new game, snooker. Initially, snooker was played only for relaxation and a change of pace, but soon it became a competitive sport. A cue with chalk, and red and black balls form the handle of the jug.
