The Dealer toby jug - Peter Meanley 2010

The Dealer stoneware toby jug produced by Peter Meanley of Bangor, Ireland, in 2010. Acting as an agent in all matters pertaining to antiques, this particular dealer's specialization is in seventeenth century flintlock pistols and silver candlesticks. An antique is generally considered an artifact of aesthetic or historical significance that is no longer in production or common usage and is typically more than one-hundred years old. Until the twentieth century, antique collecting was a pastime of the wealthy aristocracy, but today, with the scope of antiques and collectibles so vastly increased to include anything from china to Chippendales, collecting has become a passion in which every person can indulge.
