The Black Man toby jug - Kevin Francis Ceramics 1997

The Black Man toby jug modeled by Carl Peers and produced by Peggy Davies Ceramics for Kevin Francis Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, in a 1997 limited edition of 250. The Black Man toby jug is designed after the Cross-legged Toby, which in turn is derived from an Ordinary Toby who has his left leg crossed over his right leg and is holding an overflowing pitcher of ale with both hands. He is sitting on a tree stump with a tree branch forming the handle of the jug.
