The Best is Not Too Good toby jug tiny - Royal Doulton 1994

The Best is Not Too Good medium toby jug designed by William K. Harper and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, in a 1994 limited edition of 2,500 for Lawleys by Post. The Best is Not Too Good depicts a jovial consumer of fine brews whose ambition was "Old wood to burn, old ale to drink, and old Friends to trust". The model is based on the 1920s Harry Simon stoneware design, which in turn had its progenitor in the Squat Toby jugs of the 19th Century.
