The Best is Not Too Good teapot stoneware - Royal Doulton 1924-1929

The Best is Not Too Good teapot stoneware designed by Harry Simeon and produced by Royal Doulton of Lambeth, England, between 1924 and 1929. The Best is Not Too Good depicts a jovial consumer of fine brews whose ambition was "Old wood to burn, old ale to drink, and old Friends to trust". The gentleman's left arm forms the handle of the teapot and with right arm the spout. The model had its progenitor in the Squat Toby jugs of the 19th Century.
