American Toby Jug Museum 

The Bearded Spook toby jug designed by Robert I. Tabbenor and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, in a 1998 limited edition of 1,500 for Lawleys by Post. The Bearded Spook, and his companion The Spook, are inspired from the classic Royal Doulton figurines designed by Charles J. Noke. The Spook figurines were introduced in 1916 and last produced in 1936. The word spook is from the Middle Dutch word spooc, which in turn is derived from the Swedish spoke or Danish spogelse, meaning ghost. Judging from their impish grins, the pair seems bent on creating mischief for someone. Note the bat sitting on the back of the Spook's chair.
