The Arundel Town Crier face pot prototype - Kevin Francis 2002

The Arundel Town Crier prototype colorway trial face pot produced by Kevin Francis Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, in 2002. The English village of Arundel has had town criers dating back to as early as 369 AD. "Oh Yeah! Oh Yeah! Oh Yeah!" On hearing this hearty call the local townsfolk rushed to the square since these words heralded the arrival of the Town Crier. With his large bell to attract attention, this important fellow made his public announcements and proclamations, standing before the crowd resplendent in official robes and cocked hat. The tradition of the Town Crier is upheld today in Arundel by award winning Angela Standing and her hearty call has been heard in the town square for the past 18 years.
