Swan toby jug produced by Fitz and Floyd of Medford, Oregon, in 1981. Swans are largest birds of the family Anatidae within the genus Cygnus and are among the largest flying birds. The swans' closest relatives include the geese and ducks. There are six living and many extinct species of swan. Swans usually mate for life but if a mate dies, the remaining swan will take up with another. The number of eggs in each clutch ranges from three to eight. Adults also have a patch of un-feathered skin between the eyes and bill. This pitcher is of a pair of mated swans whose intertwined necks for the handle of the jug.
