Stratford on Avon Toby sugar bowl - W. H. Goss circa 1915

Stratford on Avon Toby sugar bowl designed by W. Pearce and produced by W. H. Goss of Stoke-on-Trent, England, circa 1915. The Stratford on Avon Toby sugar bowl is a variation on the Ordinary Toby featuring a common man of the time wearing 18th century clothing and a tricorn hat with both hands on his ample belly. It is a replica of the smallest known toby jug at the time. It was available only in Stratford on Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. The Stratford on Avon toby items were a part of Goss' Historic Models Series.
