Standing Toby jug - Honiton Pottery circa 1930

Standing Toby jug produced by Honiton Pottery of Honiton, England, circa 1930. This Standing Toby is wearing the traditional everyday garb of the late 1700s including the long frock coat, buttoned vest, and tricorn hat. He is holding a large mug of ale in his right hand. Honiton Pottery toby jugs were hand thrown on a potter's wheel and the facial features added by rolling the clay jug into a flat mold. This jug is also impressed with "Collard" for owner Charles Collard.
