Squirrel toby jug milk - Royal Bayreuth circa 1920

Squirrel milk pitcher toby jug produced by Royal Tettau Porcelain Factory of Bavaria, Germany, circa 1920 using its Royal Bayreuth tradename. Squirrels are members of the family Sciuridae, and includes tree squirrels, ground squirrels, and flying squirrels. Squirrels are indigenous to the Americas, Eurasia, and Africa, and were introduced by humans to Australia. Squirrels are generally small animals and typically have slender bodies with very long very bushy tails and large eyes. In general, their fur is soft and silky. His bushy tail forms the handle of the jug. This is the smallest of three known sizes with the water pitcher standing 5 3/4" tall and the lemonade pitcher 8" tall.
