Squirrel toby jug produced by Ditmar-Urbach of Trnovany, Czechoslovakia, circa 1930. Squirrels are members of the family Sciuridae, and includes tree squirrels, ground squirrels, and flying squirrels. Squirrels are indigenous to the Americas, Eurasia, and Africa, and were introduced by humans to Australia. Squirrels are generally small animals and typically have slender bodies with very long very bushy tails and large eyes. In general, their fur is soft and silky. He is holding an acorn in his front paws and his bushy tail forms the handle of the jug.
