American Toby Jug Museum 

Socialist Deputy majolica toby jug produced by Orchies of Orchies, France, circa 1910. This satirical jug depicts a legless deputy of the National Assembly who continues to block key legislation through filibuster. The words "ETAT" and "1.71 A L'Heure" on the front of the wooden wheeled cart indicate he is making slow progress at 1.71km per hour. The handle say "Interpellations", or hecking and interruptions, on one side, and "Chahut - Boxe", or ruckus-boxing, on the other. Orchies model numbers are a combination of letters and numbers. The letters are an abbreviation for the name of the jug and the number is the size of the jug.
