Skeleton Dog toby jug - Natures Mark circa 2000

Skeleton Dog toby jug produced in China for Natures Mark of Houston, Texas, circa 2000. This skeleton dog is sitting down patiently waiting for his master. He is looking forward to participating together in tonight's Day of the Dead parade. The Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday where families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion that includes food, drink and celebration. A blend of Mesoamerican ritual, European religion and Spanish culture, the holiday is celebrated each year from October 31-November 2. The Skeleton Dog's tail forms the handle of the jug.
