Sherlock Holmes toby jug - Royal Doulton 1981 - 1991

Sherlock Holmes toby jug designed by Robert I. Tabbenor and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, from 1981 to 1991. From Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's imagination comes this most accomplished detective, Sherlock Holmes. The world's first consulting detective, Holmes, along with his eager narrator Dr. Watson, was uncanny in his ability to ferret out clues and deduce the perpetrator of some dastardly deed. Having solved thousands of cases and never far from his pipe and magnifying glass, Holmes is constantly stopping to investigate some vital clue in the case he is presently pursuing. This jug was issued to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859 -1930).
