Shamus face pot - Kevin Francis circa 2002

Shamus face pot produced by Kevin Francis Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, circa 2002. Shamus is a leprechaun, a diminutive supernatural being in Irish folklore, classed by some as a type of solitary fairy. They are usually depicted as little bearded men, wearing a green coat and hat, who partake in mischief. In more recent times, they have been depicted as shoe-makers who have a hidden pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Having just been captured, Shamus' face pot quote, "and your three wishes are?", is offering to exchange those three wishes, and his pot of gold, for his freedom.
