Sgt. Peeler The Policeman toby jug - Royal Doulton 1985 - 1991

Sgt. Peeler The Policeman 3/4 body toby jug designed by William K. Harper and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, from 1985 to 1991. Sgt. Tom Peeler is familiar with his "patch" over many years; he knows all the local lawbreakers and their ways. His all-seeing eye peers into many shady corners with suspicion. His philosophy is that life is a contest or game according to the rules, and he is there as referee against foul play and cheating. Married with four grown daughters, he contrives to spend little time at home where femininity rules day and night. In his days as a young constable, he caught red-handed Lighting Graball, the notorious burglar as well as many other criminals. In Doultonville there is little crime. This is one of twenty-five Doultonville toby jugs.
