Salvador Dali toby jug Ruby Fusion flambé - Peggy Davies Ceramics 2012

Salvador Dali toby jug in a Ruby Fusion flambé colorway modeled by Douglas V. Tootle and produced by Peggy Davies Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, in a 2012 limited edition. Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dali Domenech (1904 - 1989), known as Salvador Dali, was a Spanish surrealist artist renowned for his technical skill, precise draftsmanship, and the striking and bizarre images in his work. Dali's artistic repertoire included painting, graphic arts, film, sculpture, design and photography, at times in collaboration with other artists. He also wrote fiction, poetry, autobiography, essays and criticism. To the dismay of those who held his work in high regard, and to the irritation of his critics, his eccentric and ostentatious public behavior often drew more attention than his artwork. Dali's life and work have been an important influence on pop art, other Surrealists, and contemporary artists. A stylized nude forms the handle of this jug.
