Sailor toby jug Dreadnought - Germany circa 1920

Sailor Dreadnought 3/4 body toby jug produced in Germany circa 1920. A sailor, seaman, mariner, or seafarer is a person who works aboard a watercraft as part of its crew, and may work in any one of a number of different fields that are related to the operation and maintenance of a ship. This sailor has traveled the world and has many tales to tell. HMS Dreadnought was a Royal Navy battleship, the design of which revolutionized naval power. The ship's entry into service in 1906 represented such an advance in naval technology that her name came to be associated with an entire generation of battleships, the dreadnoughts, as well as the class of ships named after her. Likewise, the generation of ships she made obsolete became known as pre-dreadnoughts.
