Sailor character jug produced in Staffordshire circa 1820. A sailor, seaman, mariner, or seafarer is a person who works aboard a watercraft as part of its crew and may work in any one of a number of different fields that are related to the operation and maintenance of a ship. This sailor has traveled the world and has many tales to tell.
The Sailor is wearing the common sailor's hat. Note the face on the front of the hat. This is a rare jug.
