Round Three face pot produced by Kevin Francis Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, in a 2001 Artist's limited edition. The boxer is an amateur or professional who participates in boxing, a combat sport and a martial art in which two people, usually wearing protective gloves and other protective equipment such as hand wraps and mouth guards, throw punches at each other for a predetermined amount of time in a boxing ring. This boxer's face pot quote, "In the clearing stood a boxer and a fighter by the name", are the lyrics from "The Boxer", widely considered one of Paul Simon's masterpieces, telling the story of a young boy who laments his poverty and then turning to that of a boxer.
