Rooster toby jug in a medium size produced in Germany circa 1935. A rooster is an adult male chicken, which is a domesticated junglefowl species. People now keep chickens primarily as a source of food and as pets. Traditionally they were also bred for cockfighting, which is still practiced in some places.
The rooster's tail feathers form the handle of the jug.
