Rooster toby jug extra large - Saint-Clement circa 1905

Rooster extra large majolica toby jug produced by Saint-Clement of France circa 1905. A national emblem of France, the rooster decorated French flags during the Revolution. There are two styles of Rooster pitcher, this one has a small hole on the bottom of the beak for pouring absinthe. The rooster's plumage forms the handle of the pitcher. This rooster jug has "Chantecler" stamped across the front of the jug.
