Rooster toby jug produced by Stewart B. McCulloch of California circa 1945. A rooster is an adult male chicken, which is a domesticated junglefowl species. People now keep chickens primarily as a source of food and as pets. Traditionally they were also bred for cockfighting, which is still practiced in some places.
