Rooster toby jug - Poet-Laval circa 1910

Rooster majolica toby jug produced by Poet-Laval of France circa 1910. One of the national emblems of France, the Coq Gaulois decorate French flags during the Revolution. The rooster's tail feathers form the handle of the jug. A smaller version of the Rooster exists, model number 407 standing 8 1/2" tall.
