Ronnie Corbett character jug - Royal Doulton 1998

Ronnie Corbett character jug modeled by David B. Biggs and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, in a 1998 limited edition of 5,000 commissioned by Lawleys By Post. Ronnie Corbett (1930- ) was one of a two-man comedy team who together became two of Britain's best-loved comedians. Corbett, along with his compatriot, Ronnie Barker, had an amazing seventeen-year run on British television in "The Two Ronnies". Corbett is best remembered for his monologues, during which his rambling jokes digressed wildly until they finally arrived at the original punch line that had long been forgotten. Corbett's memory and ingenious delivery made the monologues truly unique. At the close of each show the duo would always end with Ronnie Corbett saying "Well, it's goodnight from me," to which Ronnie Barker would reply "And it's goodnight from him," as depicted on the respective handles on the pair of jugs. One of their trademarks were the black spectacles each man wore. A page of a script with "and it's goodnight from me" form the handle of this jug.
