Rick Parfitt character jug modeled by Martyn C. R. Alcock and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, in a 1993 limited edition of 2,500. Rick Parfitt (1948- ) is one of a pair of musicians who, with Francis Rossi, comprise Status Quo, a famous British rock band that had its first hit in 1968 and is still performing today. One of England's greatest rhythm guitarists, Rick's rock-solid style is at the core of Status Quo's sound. Also known as The Womorr (The Wild Old Man Of Rock and Roll), he has written some of Quo's most memorable songs, including "Whatever You Want," "Backwater," "Living on an Island" and "Rain." If you have seen Quo live you will know the rush you get when Rick steps up to the front of the stage and hammers out the introduction to "Caroline" or "Paper Plane." The enduring partnership of Rossi and Parfitt is what keeps Quo rocking, and, even though they are very different characters, after more than thirty years together they are still the best of mates. A cream colored guitar forms the handle of the jug.
