Reverend Cassock The Clergyman toby jug - Royal Doulton 1983 - 1991

Reverend Cassock The Clergyman 3/4 body toby jug designed by William K. Harper and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, from 1983 to 1991. The story of Father Maurice Cassock is an unusual one. He was orphaned at an early age when his Irish parents died in a tragic boating accident on the River Ardene. Maurice was rescued and adopted by distant relations, the Cassocks, who were strict Anglicans. Through their influence and his own sincere inclination, he devoted his life to religion and became the minister of St. Luke's church, not far from Doultonville Cathedral, with which he has close connections. Father Maurice has fine musical abilities and a good singing voice; the choir he has trained has a high reputation and recordings of its performances have been made and broadcast on the Doultonville radio station. This is one of twenty-five Doultonville toby jugs.
