Queen Elizabeth II Coronation character jug - Royal Doulton 2002

Queen Elizabeth II Coronation character jug modeled by Zoe (Valerie) Annand and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, in a 2002 limited edition of 1,000 to commemorate her Golden Jubilee. Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) was Queen of sixteen independent nations known as the Commonwealth Realms: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; Canada; Australia; New Zealand; Jamaica; Barbados; the Bahamas; Grenada; Papua New Guinea; the Solomon Islands; Tuvalu; Saint Lucia; Saint Vincent and the Grenadines; Antigua and Barbuda; Belize; and Saint Kitts and Nevis. By the Statute of Westminster, 1931, she held these positions equally: no one nation takes precedence over any other. In her almost 71 years on the throne, Elizabeth II saw a number of her former territories and realms attain independence. Today about 128 million people live in countries of which she was Head of State. She was the longest serving head of state in the world. Her reign of over seven decades has seen many different Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom, with whom, as Head of State, she maintained close contact. She saw all Cabinet papers and the records of Cabinet meetings. She received important Foreign Office telegrams and a daily summary of events in Parliament. She acted as host to Heads of State when they visit Britain, and received other notable visitors from overseas. The Queen was Patron or President of over 700 organizations. Annually she undertook a large number of engagements, over 400 in the U.K. and overseas in 2007. Every year, Her Majesty entertained some 48,000 people from all sections of the community at Royal Garden Parties and other occasions. An orb, scepter, Royal cloak, and scroll form the handle of the jug.
