Quaker Man toby jug produced in Germany for Ebeling and Reuss of Devon, Pennsylvania, circa 1940 using its Erphila tradename. The Quaker Man is a member of the Religious Society of Friends, a Christian sect founded by George Fox around 1650. Note the Bible tucked under his left arm.
