Punch toby jug - Bairstow Manor Pottery circa 1990

Punch toby jug produced by Bairstow Manor Pottery of Hanley, England, circa 1990. From the popular English puppet show Punch is often found hitting other members of his party with his stick. The puppet show generally features Punch interacting with a series of characters in a variety of mishaps. Even his doting wife Judy cannot keep him from mischief. Punch is holding his stick in front him with his left hand. This toby jug was produced from Shorter & Son's original molds from the 1940s.
