Punch character jug - Bairstow Manor Pottery circa 1995

Punch character jug produced by Bairstow Manor Pottery of Hanley, England, circa 1995. From the popular English puppet show Punch is often found hitting other members of his party with his stick. The puppet show generally features Punch interacting with a series of characters in a variety of mishaps. Even his doting wife Judy cannot keep him from mischief. Using William Kent's original molds, this Judy character jug is a reproduction of the William Kent Judy character jug from the early 1900s.
