Pittsburgh face pot produced by Kevin Francis Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, in a 2003 limited edition of 50 commissioned by European Treasures of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A dragon is a large magical legendary creature that appears in the folklore of many cultures worldwide. Beliefs about dragons vary considerably through regions, but dragons in western cultures since the High Middle Ages have often been depicted as winged, horned, and capable of breathing fire.
Commonalities between dragons' traits are often a hybridization of feline, reptilian, mammal, and avian features. Dragons are renown for whisking young maidens away to his lair. Pittsburgh is known as the "City of Black and Gold', hence the colors of this Pittsburgh face pot.
