Pirate toby jug produced by Staffordshire Fine Ceramics of Tunstall, England, circa 1975. A pirate is a buccaneer of piratical adventurers who raided Spanish colonies and ships along the American coast in the second half of the 17th century. After months at sea, this pirate is relaxing at a pub along the coast. A skull and crossbones form the handle of the jug.
