Pilot character jug produced in Japan for Abbott of Toronto, Canada, circa 1960. A pilot is someone trained and licensed to operate and control aircraft along planned routes and during takeoffs and landings. Key responsibilities include monitoring engines, fuel consumption, and other aircraft systems during flight. They also respond to changing conditions, such as weather events and emergencies, for example a mechanical malfunction. Part of an old wooden propeller forms the handle of the jug.
