Pig toby jug advertising - France circa 1950

Pig advertising toby jug produced in France circa 1950. The pig is an omnivorous, domesticated, even-toed, hoofed mammal. The size and weight of pigs largely depends on their breed. Pigs grunt and make snorting sounds. When used as livestock, pigs are farmed primarily for the production of meat. A group of pigs is called a passel, a team, or a sounder. Pigs, especially miniature breeds, are kept as pets. A popular pitcher the Pig can be found with a variety of advertising on him. The pig's tail curls up to form the handle of the jug. This is a reproduction of the Sarreguemines Pig toby jug.
