Pig toby jug - Shorter & Son circa 1960

Pig toby jug produced by Shorter & Son of Stoke-on-Trent, England, circa 1960. The pig is an omnivorous, domesticated, even-toed, hoofed mammal. The size and weight of pigs largely depends on their breed. Pigs grunt and make snorting sounds. When used as livestock, pigs are farmed primarily for the production of meat. A group of pigs is called a passel, a team, or a sounder. Pigs, especially miniature breeds, are kept as pets.
