Peter Calvesbert toby jug - Kevin Francis Ceramics circa 1999

Peter Calvesbert toby jug modeled by Andy Moss and produced by Peggy Davies Ceramics for Kevin Francis Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, circa 1999 in a limited edition of 500. As master carver, Peter Calvesbert (1960 - ) is the man responsible for the humorous Treasure Jest series. His works have captured the attention of collectors worldwide, although interestingly he has had no formal arts training. In 1990 Martin Perry needed to hire a master carver for Antiquark. Peter interviewed with Martin and returned with a series of six ducks, four of which later became part of the Harmony Kingdom "Large Treasure Jest" series. He continues to work as Harmony Kingdom's most prolific and well-recognized master carver. A pair of playful mice form the handle of the jug.
