Pearl the Purple Pachyderm face pot Team Tour - Kevin Francis 2002

Pearl the Purple Pachyderm face pot produced by Kevin Francis Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, in a 2002 limited edition of 24 for the Team Tour. Pearl the Purple Pachyderm is among the largest existing land animals. Distinctive features of elephants include a long proboscis called a trunk, tusks, large ear flaps, pillar-like legs, and tough but sensitive skin. The trunk is used for breathing and is prehensile, bringing food and water to the mouth, and grasping objects. Tusks, which are derived from the incisor teeth, serve both as weapons and as tools for moving objects and digging. The large ear flaps assist in maintaining a constant body temperature as well as in communication. Pearl's face pot quote, "I meant what I said and I said what I meant... An elephant's faithful One Hundred Percent!" is a quote from Horton the elephant in the Dr. Seuss book "Horton Hatches the Egg".
