Patriotic Rooster toby jug - Orchies circa 1910

Patriotic Rooster majolica toby jug produced by Orchies of Orchies, France, circa 1910. One of the national emblems of France, the Coq Gaulois decorate French flags during the Revolution. The rooster's tail feathers form the handle of the jug. Orchies model numbers are a combination of letters and numbers. The letters are an abbreviation for the name of the jug and the number is the size of the jug. This jug is known in two sizes with this one being the larger.
