Ordinary Toby jug - Padre Pottery circa 1940

Ordinary Toby jug produced by Padre Pottery of Los Angeles, California, with its Regal tradename circa 1940. The Ordinary Toby is the original toby jug featuring a common man of the time wearing 18th century clothing and a tricorn hat. This Ordinary Toby is seated in a high back chair, with a churchwarden pipe in his right hand and his loyal dog laying between his feet. His long hair forms the handle of the jug.
